"This holiday season is all about giving more to our members and because many like to start shopping well before Black Friday, we're excited to open our doors early on Thanksgiving and offer other early access opportunities for them to shop and save," Leena Munjal, senior vice president of Sears Holdings said.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Kmart, which has been open for 22 straight Thanksgivings, sees no reason to mess with what works. The mass retailer will open at 6 a.m. Thursday Nov. 27 and stay open for 42 hours straight, through midnight on Black Friday.
Its sister company, Sears, will kick off its Black Friday sales at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving and stay open through the end of the sales day on Black Friday.
That follows announcements by Macy's, Staples and Kohl's that they, too, will open their doors at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.
Kmart and Sears, both wholly owned by Sears Holdings Corp. in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, are offering more options than ever for shoppers this year, from free in-store pickup to a Shop Your Way mobile app that lets consumers buy online and have their purchases brought out to their cars at the store.
"This holiday season is all about giving more to our members and because many like to start shopping well before Black Friday, we're excited to open our doors early on Thanksgiving and offer other early access opportunities for them to shop and save," Leena Munjal, senior vice president of Sears Holdings said in a written statement.
"I'd also like to especially thank our seasonal associates and those who have volunteered to share part of the day serving our members on Thanksgiving."
Upcoming promotions include:
