Audubon Society looking for volunteers to attend EPA hearing on carbon rules

The Audubon Society is offering free transportation to the first U.S. EPA hearing on limiting carbon dioxide emissions.

The U.S. EPA has proposed reducing power plant and other industrial carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and is now beginning a series of public hearings. CO2 is said to be responsible for global climate change.

CLEVELAND -- The Audubon Society is offering volunteers transportation to Pittsburgh on Thursday, July 31, to attend one of the the first regional hearings on proposed federal limitations to industrial carbon dioxide emissions.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which on June 2 proposed CO2 emission limits, will hold six regional hearings, including Thursday's hearing in Pittsburgh.

The Audubon Society has chartered buses on that day, leaving from Cleveland, Akron and Columbus, and is seeking volunteers to attend the hearing and a rally.
