"It's been kind of crazy here," said Mike Kubinski, owner, founder and lead designer of CLE Clothing Co. "When we arrived at the store this morning, there was a line out the door, about 75 to 100 people" waiting outside his Downtown Cleveland Store at 342 Euclid Ave. and East Fourth Street.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Looking to update your Cavaliers' wardrobe now that Cleveland is a city of champions? Don't worry, Cavs' fans, more souvenirs are coming.
Local T-shirt companies are printing new NBA Championship designs as quickly as they can, and hint that some new designs could be created for the citywide celebratory parade on Wednesday.
He had barely put out 300 of his newest T-shirt, a grey design with "World Champs: Won & Golden," when it sold out within hours. So much so that he had to deliver a second batch of those T-shirts in the afternoon.
Not only are the T-shirts selling out, "pretty much all the basketball gear is down to nothing," he said. "Everyone's out shopping: grandparents, kids, it's just crazy."
Kubinski said he closed the store at 7 p.m. Sunday, forfeiting potentially huge after-game sales, rather than force anyone to miss watching the game.
He and his team are already batting around ideas for a followup T-shirt or two, but says, "I don't know if we'll have them ready for the parade, because all the print shops are backed up."
Fresh Brewed Tees, which started sharing links to its e-commerce site freshbrewedtees.com/collections/championship via social media, as soon as the title was clinched, boasts at least 10 Cavs' championship-related designs, ranging from "Two WON Six" and "Curse Reversed" to "Cleveland Never Quits" and "Won Before I Died."
Not to be outdone, Akron-based Rubber City Clothing offered these takes on LeBron James' roots: "Cleveland Scores a Championship: Akron Gets the Assist" and "You're Welcome Cleveland, Love Akron."
The NBA's online Cavaliers' shop, at store.nba.com/Cleveland_Cavaliers_Gear/ had plenty of licensed championship hats, T-shirts, and other memorabilia, from a LeBron James NBA Finals Champions bobblehead complete with replica trophy for $29.99, to an "Autographed Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James Pro Leather Basketball with a 2016 NBA Finals Champions Mahogany Basketball Display Case," for $1,699.99.
