Welty Building Co. and Millcraft Investments announced the formation of Millcraft-Welty Construction on Tuesday.
AKRON, Ohio -- Welty Building Co., specializing in building services and construction management, and Millcraft Investments, a real estate and development company in western Pennsylvania, announced the formation of Millcraft-Welty Construction.
The company will maintain facilities in both downtown Pittsburgh and Washington, Pennsylvania, according to a press release from the Welty company.
The new company is planning to hire 20-25 employees by the end of 2016 and leverage the talent pool of both Millcraft Investments and Welty Building Co. Don Taylor is President and CEO of Millcraft-Welty and will oversee the day-to-day operations. The company is currently hiring a president.
Millcraft-Welty Construction has begun pre-construction activities on several projects in the Pittsburgh area. Millcraft-Welty will be the construction manager for the new Home2 Suites by Hilton in Monaca, Pennsylvania, and will begin construction in the early spring of 2016.
"We expect also to break ground on a Hilton Garden Inn, located adjacent to the Home2 Suites, in the late summer of 2016. We are excited to bring the expertise of the Millcraft-Welty partnership into this project," said Marcus Piatt, president of Millcraft Hospitality. Kaczmar Architects of Cleveland, Ohio, is the project architect.
